What is a Door Closer?

Sounds like a silly question doesn’t it? But did you know there are many different kinds of door closers? The most common of which are pneumatic closers, motorized door closers, and even in floor door closers.

Pneumatic Door Closers

These are what we install at Crono Lock. The traditional self contained system. A pneumatic arm retracts the door and doesn’t require any electrical power. The tried and true.

Motorized Door Closers

While we will offer repairs or maintenance to certain motorized door closers, these often require the aid of an electrician. However, just like the pneumatic closer, these utilizes an electric motor to retract AND open the door. Ideal for places where accessibility is an issue. If you’re looking for a repair or an installation of a motorized door closer, you’re best off finding an electrical service provider.

In Floor Door Closers

These are mainly found on solid glass doors, or specialty residential doors. Where your more traditional door closer may not be feasible or desirable for aesthetic reasons. While not something we typically take on, we consider all installs of in floor door closers on a case by case basis. For commercial installations in concrete, scans and coring may be required by an outside company first.
