πΉ Step-by-Step Guide
β Toyota Remote Programming Instructions (2000β2006 Models):
Start with driverβs door open and unlocked. All other doors closed.
Insert key into ignition and remove it twice (do not turn).
Close and open the driverβs door twice.
Insert and remove key again twice.
Close and open the driverβs door once more.
Insert the key into ignition and leave it in.
Close the driverβs door, then turn key to ON, then back to OFF.
Remove key from ignition.
If successful, the door locks will cycle, indicating the vehicle is in programming mode.
Within 40 seconds, press LOCK and UNLOCK on the remote simultaneously for 1β2 seconds.
Then press LOCK again for 1 second.
If the locks cycle, programming was successful. Repeat for additional remotes.
Open the driverβs door to exit programming mode.
πΉ Notes
If locks do not cycle at step 9, restart β timing is crucial.
All remotes must be programmed during the same session.
This process does not program transponder chips (requires scan tool or two master keys).
πΉ Troubleshooting
Didnβt hear lock cycle? Try again, faster.
Only one remote works? You likely exited the session too early.
Still stuck? Your model may require dealer programming.
